Theatre inaugurated in 1999, the Modern Theatre takes its name from the old cinema that stood on the site that now occupies the theatre. Over the years, thanks to a rich and varied programme, it has become a cultural reference point in the province, being frequented by first-class artists and creators. As a public theatre, it is committed not only to the public and its demand, but also to professional and amateur companies that demand stages where to show the fruits of their efforts and talent. Due to the fact of sharing facilities with the Casa de la Cultura, it has been used to link the programming of both: music, painting, lectures, colloquia, book presentations and so on.
