Forming a part of Andalucia's excellent cuisine, Chiclana can boasts of wonderful vegetables as well as fish and seafood farmed in the salt marshes and ponds around the town.
Other local products include sausages and cured meat products.
Chiclana also produces delicious pastries such as the famous almond cake (torta de almendra) made by nuns from the Jesús Nazareno Convent.
Wine from Chiclana has traditionally been one of the most notable contributions to the area's gastronomy : there are dry white wines and muscatel wines produced by strictly traditional and historical processes.
In addition, grape juice from Chiclana is used for the world-famous wine from Jerez de la Frontera (Jerez-Xerez-Sherry), since Chiclana belongs to the production zone.
